Stunning Chanel Haute Couture black, cream and gold plaid tweed jacket and dress ensemble from the 1960s. The jackets features a Peter Pan collar with pointed black resin buttons, folded slit pockets at the hips and turned cuffs that are tacked in place. The jacket is an unstructured style, fitting slightly loose. Original cream silk interior lining and iconic gold tone metal chain at the interior hem. The under dress features a cream sleeveless silk bodice with interested top stitching that creates a check motif. The skirt of the dress is matching tweed with a 2″ hem that can be let down if needed. The dress is a faux wrap style and fastens with a front left seam zipper in the skirt, large hook and eyes at the waist and hidden buttons and snaps up the bodice. Haute Couture label with bolduc (style number) on back and tag below hand written by the Chanel Couture seamstress with information on the garment. Handmade in France. The tweed jacket and skirt are in very good overall vintage condition. The silk on the bodice of the dress has wear throughout, specifically around the buttons and some small holes near the waist. One section at the right bust has been repaired and the silk is not an exact match. Two square sections at the back have been repaired and match well, though there are seams.
